Prostitution in Thailand

Prostitution is a criminal offense in Thailand.

There are only few exceptions for Pattaya, Few streets in Bangkok and few streets in Phuket. Attitude towards prostitution among Thais is quite calmпревалирующая: this is Buddhist country, with prevailing idea of tolerance and low standard of living in north-eastern provinces led to perception of prostitution just as specific profession, because of tough life.

Besides we got common story of Thai “Cinderella” – prostitute who married a foreigner. Such marriage doesn’t change fundamentally only lady’s life, but probably all her family and half of her native village life.

Doing her job on Walking Street is not just trivial prostitution – this is expectation of a prince on a horse… metal horse.
