Buy apartments in Thailand is quite easy and rather not expensive, but you should take into account few things:

  • Not every bathroom comes with the bathtub or shower tab

  • The washing machine is quite rare appliance in the condos. Washing itself is not an issue in this case. The problem is to dry the clothes with local extreme humidity. Because of this lot of people use nearby laundries.
  • Because of the high humidity in the condo, you either need to use the air conditioner, or prepare yourself to carefully monitor the clothes in the cabinets and electronic devices. Especially photo-optics. It is very likely that over time some of the things can become moldy.
  • Ceiling fan is a very convenient and money-saving thing.
  • There is no gas in any condominium, since the law prohibits it. All stoves are electric.

  • Finally, the pricing is fully at the discretion of the developer. Some developers sell foreign quota bit more expensive than Thai quota. Some do not make any price difference between foreign and Thai quota. Thus, the only way to find out how much does it cost to buy condo in Thailand is to look through the options from the trusted developers in good locations.

Probably one of the main reason that makes people buy property here is relaxing atmosphere at its best – especially near the sea, in beautiful and tranquil place. There are few specific moments as well.
Keep in mind that beachfront property here can be quite expensive. Beachfront property here is considered 200 meters from the shore. It is prohibited to build any high-rise project closer than that. At the same moment nobody can guarantee that there would be no building between you and the sea, for example if condo is located 300 meters from the shore. There is no “view-block” law now in 2017 in Thailand. Therefore, make sure when looking for the condo near the sea you choose the absolute beachfront projects.

Is it possible to buy condo in Thai quota and then transfer it to foreign quota?

Yes, it is. However, following procedure requires free foreign quota to appear in condominium, which happens quite rare. For example, foreign owner sells his unit to the Thai buyer, which automatically transfers ownership to Thai. It happens sometimes, and those who lucky and submit documents in time can get his unit in foreign quota.
