Thai islands are one of the top tourist destinations in the world. Phuket offers an exotic holiday experience, with beautiful tropical beaches, lots of facilities and amenities even for the most selective tourists. Mai Khao is probably not the best place for the holiday residence, however ,it's woth to visit the beach of the same name, since it's one of the most famous one.
1. Distance to the airport.
Actually, there's no difference to the airport. Mai Khao beach is well known for its views on ascending and landing airplanes right at the edge of the beach line. Sometimes Mai Khao is called an "airport beach".
2. Distance to the beach.
Few steps away, however, we should remind you that North Phuket is not the most popular place for the holiday residence.
3. Beach length.
Mai Khao is the longest beach on the island - 11 km.
4. Beach and water condition.
The beach is quite clear, as well as the water, however, there might be bit more trash since the active development of the northern part of Phuket. Mai Khao beach is adjacent to the national park, so it's very easy to meet some animals in the vicinity. Local beach might be not the best choice for the family beach leisure: it's truly tranquil and serene place, but water is quite deep for the small children to swim, and besides, there's no lifeguard service here.
5. Local facilities and infrastructure.
Despite the proximity to the airport, the local infrastructure is still quite poor. Most of the facilities can be found at the local hotels, while Mai Khao is overseen mostly like a popular sightseeing rather than a beach leisure point.
6. Transportation.
Public transport is the local weak point, so the best way is to rent your own vehicle if you are looking to stay in this area.
7. Views.
Nice sea views and views of the local national park.
8. Popular sightseeings.
Probably the only notable place to visit here, besides Mai Khao beach, is "Jungle Splash" waterpark, which suites great family tourists.
9. Nightlife.
Nightlife is absent here.
